Church dresses, or outfits that were only tried on, or heaven forbid! Being vigiliant about keeping those things out makes a difference!

No, so I feel like every wears is plenty! Our family of 5 does about loads each week including cloth diapers for 2. None … because our budget cannot afford to buy quarters to do laundry each week since we have to pay to wash at our apartments and it is 1.

I would caution anyone who has a front end washer and is using the HE detergent about cutting back too much. Our clothes were kind of stinky for a while, we thought it was the washer itself until my husband admitted that he had cut WAY back on the detergent.

Liz , I appreciate reading the tip about stinky clothes and not cutting back too much on detergent! I have fought with my front-loader for months and am always looking for ways to keep the stinky clothing at bay!

Me, I have no problem wearing something more than once except undies of course. We separate our clothes into more categories than most I think. I have two laundry sorters that hold three bags each and we just put the dirty clothes in the appropriate bag. That way I just grab a bag, no sorting necessary and dump it in the wash.

This way I have no problem washing, drying and putting up an entire load each day. This system has also made me realize we have way too much clothing and need to get rid of some since we no longer try to wear everything before trying to do a mega-wash-a-palooza.

I guess they think our usage is lower than other people. We have AC which is a requirement in NC…was up to at least 88 degrees today!!!

But we use a large off the floor fan quite a lot, and thereby can leave the temp up a bit higher too. Everything is relative however…our washer is a larger capacity one as is our dryer. I try to only completely dry our bedding and towels. I take the other things pretty damp and hang around the house to dry.

One is sheets and towels, one is our clothes, one is teen's clothes, if that. We always have one of regular clothes. Sometimes there are few enough that we can throw gym clothes into that load too. If not, we wash gym clothes separately. And usually on a small load setting.

Those alternate based on how many need to be washed. I separate my laundry into light, dark and colored. So I only do laundry once a month for a total of 3 loads for one person. Otherwise I won't be able to fill up a full load. Gosh, I don't count. I have to wash every other day during the school week because the kids only have 4 uniform shirts each and they have to keep one at school for accidents.

So maybe 4 loads a week? And an extra if someone pees the bed? We are a family of 4. The kids usually get too dirty to re-wear their clothes, but their clothes are tiny anyway they are 3 and 4. Tigerpine Bristles Posts: I do one load of laundry a week.
