Can you be in two frats

Seeing and hearing what happens on a daily basis opened my eyes and made me realize that this was no different than most other fraternities. It was easy to focus on the positive things when I was only around for the parties, brotherhood retreats, and community service events, but those were superficial.

Day-to-day, away from the public, you realize the unchecked privilege enjoyed by a marginally diverse group of males there are nine non-white faces out of on our most recent composite fortunate enough to go to university and join a fraternity. Behind closed doors, which can only be opened with a code given to brothers, is a safe space to shamelessly engage in intolerant behavior. You should choose and get into a fraternity based on your own merits.

If you don't know what fraternities are on campus, you can ask at the student affairs office of your college. They keep track of the fraternities that have permission to operate on campus. Select college campuses have also done away with the idea of rush week, so your campus may allow you to approach and join a fraternity any time during the quarter or semester.

If all of the fraternities you meet with end up feeling like too big a commitment, then you can always check out clubs on campus, which will require less of your time and additionally allow you to tailor the experience to your interests even more narrowly.

He also said that a few of his friends and other peers had told him that there was nothing wrong with joining two fraternities, but this is why I'm here.

What are your thoughts on any given man joining or even pursuing more than one fraternity? Note: the Divine 9 fraternities are not even associated with the "Greek life" on his campus. Thanks to all in advance. My guess would be that the D9 would automatically turn away any member of an NIC fraternity. Senusret I. Originally Posted by alphagamzetagam. Elephant Walk. But for your question, yes you can be in both.

You can be a member of both a pre-professional or service fraternity AND a social fraternity. You can't join two social fraternities. In most cases, yes, you may. However, you'll want to make sure there are no prohibitions against dual membership for either organization. Additionally, you will need to assess the time obligations for both. In some cases, professional fraternities require a great amount of time only intermittently certain times of year but leave plenty of room for additional activities such as a social Greek organization or club.

In other situations, the professional org will keep you hopping throughout the year, so an additional membership will really tax you. The rest of the year our activities were well spaced and required minimal time, so I just needed to be careful how I scheduled things during the busy times. Good luck. Enjoy your experience.
